Aidpage Launches People Locator Service to Reunite Families Separated by Hurricane Katrina

BOSTON, MA - September 20, 2005 - Aidpage, Inc. (www.aidpage.com) today announced the launch of a free online locator service for people missing as a consequence of Hurricane Katrina. The virtual family reuniting point, located at http://katrina.aidpage.com, contains searchable and interactive personal web pages for hundreds of thousands of people separated or missing as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

"We are aggregating the data available on the Internet to create unique web pages for every missing or found person," said Emil Sotirov, Co-Founder and CEO of Aidpage, Inc. "This way, Katrina victims or relatives looking for loved ones can type a person's name into any search engine and find the information they need in the way most people are used to searching the Internet. Our Katrina Aidpages will be the most easily accessible, effective, and up to date resource for Katrina victims currently available."

In addition, individuals can create their own pages for missing or found people, and post updates, pictures, and add resource links. No technical skills or registration is required. Finally, Katrina survivors who are looking for aid such as housing or employment can list their needs as well - so that people offering support can see them.

"Our ultimate goal is to put those who are in need in touch with the information, resources, and individuals who can give them the aid and comfort that they are looking for," said Ivan Ivanov, co-founder and President. "At Aidpage, our mission is helping people to help people."

Aidpage, Inc., founded in Boston in May 2005, is building the first global "People Aid People" web based platform for direct person-to-person, informal, non-mediated, and free mutual aid and support.

Prior to founding Aidpage, Ivan Ivanov and Emil Sotirov co-founded IDILOGIC in 1994, where they created and sold nationwide informational software recognized by the American Library Association as one of the best electronic media reference products.

This was a sad day in the US.  Last year when a hurricane hit Texas one of my teachers was seriously injured while protecting his niece and nephew.  He also lost connect with 2 college friends only to find out a few days later that they were gone.  I put my prays out to all that were affected by these terrible storms.  I was here in FL when one storm went from west to east coast, then one went from est to west coast (Katrina I think), and the just prior to the third that went west to east coast my husband passed from lung cancer.  I was in the Sherrif's office on the Saturday before the last one hit reporting my student check had been cashed after being delivered to the wrong address.  That was the first of 6 deaths in my family in 3 years.  It is hard to loose someone, but when one door closes another door opens, my son I had not heard from in20 years or seen in 28 years found me through an online service.
